The Aviation Fun Day at the Waterloo Airport was a great opportunity to meet the people behind the scenes and learn how the aviation industry operates. The event offered aviation-related displays in the airport’s terminal building, Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre, Royal Canadian Air Cadet Youth Development Centre, Great Lakes Helicopter and Flite Line.
The participants got the opportunity to see airport equipment, vintage aircraft, classic cars, talk to the pilots from the Canadian Owners & Pilots Association, Recreational Aircraft Association, Waterloo Warbirds, iHaro's AP-AVM MixMaster, The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum and many more.
The visitors were encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item or cash donation for the Cambridge Self Help Food Bank and The Food Bank of Waterloo Region. To date, Aviation Fun Day attendees have donated 3,538 lbs of food and $3,590 to support the local food banks.
