Vintage Wheels & Wings at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum

The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum hosted their much-anticipated annual Vintage Wheels & Wings event on Sunday, September 22, drawing crowds of car enthusiasts, aviation fans, and curious visitors alike. Despite a misty start with some fog, the day turned out to be perfect for this annual gathering. The comfortable temperature made for a pleasant experience, as vintage vehicles rolled in before 9:00 AM, forming a steady conga line of classic cars on the ramp.

Two of the museum’s vintage aircraft, the de Havilland Tiger Moth and the Fairey Firefly, were proudly displayed on the ramp. For a minimum donation of $5.00, pre-registered car owners had the opportunity to capture their vehicles in front of these iconic planes, making for a unique and timeless photo opportunity. The photo line was packed from morning until the event wrapped up, with many excited to get their cars snapped in front of these historic aircraft.

The event didn’t just attract vintage vehicle owners but also welcomed many visitors who came to enjoy both the wheels and the wings. Over 200 vintage cars filled the museum grounds, offering a visual treat for all attendees. Visitors not only admired the classic cars but also explored the museum’s impressive collection of aircraft, both inside and out.

The 2024 Vintage Wheels & Wings was a fantastic success, bringing together a large turnout of vehicles and visitors, who came to celebrate history through classic cars and vintage aircraft.
