Woodstock (Norm Beckham/Bob Hewitt Field) Aerodrome, located in Woodstock, is an aviation hub that annually hosts the Rendezvous Ridge fly-in event. This gathering serves as a delightful occasion for the local aviation community to come together. On this picturesque day, numerous aviation enthusiasts, accompanied by their friends and family, congregated to relish delectable food and engage in enjoyable activities, including passenger rides and flour bombing.
The aerodrome owes its name, Norm Beckham/Bob Hewitt Field, to the two esteemed individuals, Norm Beckham and Bob Hewitt, who can be regarded as the Founding Fathers of this aviation haven. In 1968, they played a pivotal role in establishing the WOFC (Woodstock Flying Club). Additionally, Norm Beckham and Bob Hewitt were the visionaries behind the inception of the Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association in Tillsonburg, Ontario. Their efforts bore fruit in 1969 when the association took flight with the acquisition of the first Harvard aircraft in Woodstock.
We express our heartfelt gratitude to Dave, Trish, Dylan, Damian, and Bluebelle for their warm hospitality during the event. Furthermore, we extend our appreciation to the entire Woodstock community for their unwavering commitment and diligent work, which contribute to the success and vibrancy of the aerodrome.
