The Kawartha Airport Klassics event took place at the Kawartha Lakes Municipal Airport Lindsay on Saturday, July 15th. Supported by the Kawartha Classic Kruisers and Kawartha Lakes Flying Club, it drew enthusiasts of aviation and classic cars.
Despite some aircraft cancellations due to unsettled weather, attendees were undeterred. The event featured iconic vintage aircraft like the Tiger Moth, Antonov-AN2, Skybolt, Citabria, and Bell OH-58A Helicopter, alongside classic cars on display.
Visitors were treated to innovative aircraft like the Seabee and Horizon Aviation’s Cavorite X5, with its patented fan-in-wing vertical lift system, showcased in a hangar.
Police Officers presence added to the community spirit, and participants enjoyed door prizes and a 50/50 draw.
With free admission and parking, families had a great time together. The event’s success highlighted the enduring passion for aviation and classic automobiles. Kawartha Airport Klassics once again proved to be a must-attend event for enthusiasts, fostering camaraderie and appreciation for the golden age of flight and classic cars.
