Despite the rain, spirits were high at the Annual Fly-In/Drive-In Breakfast hosted by the Perth County Flying Club, COPA FLIGHT 69, at the Stratford Municipal Airport on Sunday, June 2nd. This event, a favorite among many, marked its triumphant return after the pandemic.
The breakfast was a fundraiser for the Stratford General Hospital Foundation. Attendees enjoyed a delicious spread of pancakes, peameal bacon, local maple syrup, watermelon, and beverages. The weather allowed only one aircraft to fly in, but that didn’t stop the community from showing up in large numbers. A total of 310 breakfasts were served, and many participants drove in, proving that a little rain couldn’t dampen their spirits.
Some attendees even took the opportunity to admire the aircraft on the ramp, walking under the rain. The event was a testament to the community’s commitment to supporting local causes, and the rain added a unique charm to the day.
We’re hopeful for better weather next year, and we encourage those who missed this year or have never attended before to join us next time. It’s a wonderful opportunity to support a great cause and enjoy a fantastic community event.
Lastly, we extend our heartfelt thanks to the organizers and all the volunteers who made this event possible.
