On Sunday, June 1, the Perth County Flying Club, COPA Flight 69, hosted its Annual Fly-In/Drive-In Breakfast at Stratford Municipal Airport. The event supported the Stratford General Hospital Foundation and welcomed aviation enthusiasts and community members for a great breakfast and an exciting day at the airfield
With clear skies and a steady breeze, pilots navigated crosswinds and gusts reaching 50 km/h as they arrived. From 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, visitors lined up outside the hangar for the breakfast, which remained busy throughout the morning. Guests enjoyed pancakes, pea-meal bacon, local maple syrup, fresh watermelon and beverages, making for a satisfying start to the day.
The airport was bustling with activity as many aircraft flew in throughout the morning. Among them were two Harvard aircraft from the Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association, offering paid flights to pre-booked passengers, with a few booking on-site. Other visiting aircraft included the Fleet Cornell, Fleet Canuck and many more, adding to the lively atmosphere and excitement of the event.
A special thank you goes to the organizers and dedicated volunteers whose hard work ensured the event’s success. Their efforts made for a smooth and enjoyable experience, making the day truly special for all who attended.
