Celebrating the Life of Terry Michael Eckensviller

On Saturday, June 14, family and friends gathered at Guelph Airpark to honour and remember the life of Terry Michael Eckensviller. It was a day filled with shared stories, fond memories and a deep appreciation for a man who meant so much to so many.

Those closest to Terry spoke about his kindness, generosity and the joy he brought to others. His wife, Joan, reflected on their life together and expressed heartfelt gratitude for the support of family and friends during this difficult time. His passion for aviation and cars was remembered with smiles and warm recollections.

As a special tribute, Russ and Peter presented a beautiful coffee table book featuring photographs of Terry’s beloved 1972 Opel GT. This thoughtful gift is a lasting keepsake for the family, celebrating Terry’s enthusiasm for cars and preserving memories of a hobby he cherished.

Later in the gathering, Terry’s sons, Tim and Cody, honoured their father in a way that reflected his love for aviation. Taking the Tiger Moth to the sky, they carried his spirit with them as they flew above Guelph Airpark. As the aircraft passed overhead, family and friends looked up, watching the tribute unfold. It was a quiet and meaningful moment, filled with remembrance and love.

It was a beautiful day, a heartfelt tribute to a man who brought so much warmth and joy to those around him. Terry will be deeply missed, but his kindness and love will always be remembered.

A sincere thank you to Joan and Tim for allowing us to capture and share these treasured moments, preserving the memories of a day filled with love and appreciation for Terry.
