On July 3, the Guelph Airpark BBQ brought everyone together for good food, great company, and a special reason to celebrate. It was a sunny and breezy afternoon that made for a perfect evening outdoors.
Things started off slow, but BBQ host Tim Eckensviller and his crew were busy getting the grill going and the setup just right. The smell of BBQ filled the air as guests began to arrive and the mood warmed up quickly.
The evening held extra meaning because it was Dory’s birthday. She arrived with her husband Paul, who brought along a refreshing punch while Dory carried a beautiful birthday cake. Friends filtered in after 5 o’clock, many stopping to wish Dory a happy birthday before tucking into the food.
There was a moment when we thought the wind might keep the aircraft from arriving. But just as everyone took their first bites, we heard the familiar sound of a plane overhead. One after another, more aircraft arrived, putting on a casual and exciting show in the sky.
Laughter, stories, cake, and the joy of being together made it a night to remember. With planes flying above and birthday wishes all around, the evening felt both relaxed and full of heart.
It was another lovely BBQ at Guelph Airpark. We’re already looking forward to the next one.
