Orillia Rama Airport: A Scenic Stop Worth Visiting

On Saturday, August 2, we spent a relaxing day at Orillia Rama Regional Airport (CNJ4), located beside the calm waters of Lake St John. Whether you are a pilot, a plane enthusiast, or simply someone who enjoys lakeside views and aviation, CNJ4 offers a welcoming destination with plenty to appreciate.

Floatplanes came and went throughout the day, skimming across the lake and lifting into the sky with ease. Watching them land and take off never gets old. It is a simple pleasure that always draws interest. Although our visit was relatively laid-back on the flying side, there were still aircraft arriving, with some landing on the water and others on the runway. Depending on the day, the airport can be quite active, especially when the weather is favourable.

We caught up with friends, chatted with local folks, and enjoyed the friendly atmosphere. The airport has a warm, community-oriented vibe that makes visitors feel right at home. It is not just about aviation. It is about connection, conversation, and enjoying the outdoors.

When it comes to food, CNJ4 has you covered. The Perfect Landing Bar & Grill, located right at the airport, offers convenient options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Whether you are flying in, driving in, or just spending a few hours by the lake, it is a handy spot to sit down, relax, and grab a meal during your visit.

Of course, we could not resist capturing a few moments. From aircraft parked on the ground to floatplanes dancing on the water and soaring overhead, the views were worth sharing.

If you have not visited Orillia Rama Regional Airport yet, it is worth the trip. Whether you are flying in or just stopping by, it is a scenic stop that offers a little something for everyone.
