Vintage Wheels & Wings at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum

The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum welcomed visitors on Sunday, September 21 for its popular Vintage Wheels & Wings event. Running from 9 am to 2 pm, the gathering brought together classic cars, historic aircraft, and a cheerful crowd. It was the last official day of summer, and the weather was just right. It was sunny and warm from start to finish, with clear skies and temperatures reaching 26°C. With the humidex, it felt closer to 31°C, making it a perfect day to be outdoors.

More than 300 vintage vehicles, all built in 2005 or earlier, were proudly displayed across the ramp. Car owners chatted with guests while people wandered through the rows, taking in the polished chrome, colourful paint, and friendly atmosphere.

A special photo opportunity was offered to pre-registered car owners who made a minimum $10 cash donation to the Museum. Two official photographers from the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum captured each car in front of both the North American B-25J Mitchell and the Supermarine Spitfire, creating a unique pairing of vintage wheels and wings.

Visitors also explored the Museum’s impressive collection of vintage aircraft, adding even more to the experience. Whether admiring the planes, talking cars, or simply enjoying the sunshine, everyone seemed to be having a great time.

Vintage Wheels & Wings was a lovely way to say goodbye to summer. With a strong turnout, friendly faces, and plenty to see, it was a day to remember for car lovers, aviation fans, and families alike.
